this is very useful to us
and it gives us confidence to solve this type of questions

  • Sachinmeya

    SIR
one more doubt in question 14
we have studied purine ( adenine, guanine )and pyrimidine ( cytosine, uracil, thymine)so according to question which contains 4 pyrimidines ?? actually there are 4 pyrimidines?? can you please correct me..??

    • Rajat

the pyrimidines includes- cytosine(C), uracil(U), thymine(T)…and Option 1: GATCAATGC is the only option where there are 4 pyrimidines are present (two T, two C).

  • Sachinmeya

this questions are quite helpful for practicing MCQs..
    sir
i have a doubt in question no 1
in transgenic animals how foreign gene is introduced in all the cells??
i think it should be in some of their cells….

  • Sowmya Thomas

This quiz is very useful because it helps me to be aware of my knowledge and potential in the field of biotechnology

  • aadish

This is way better than doing previous years Question Papers

  • Sushmita Ghosh

quite helpful mcqs for preparation of mcq.. but i think there is some problem in question 14.!

  • vaibhavi

smart and simple …. discribes me as well as this quiz !! all correct !! full marks + fun !

    • Rachal Mahew

biogical agents like pathogens or their toxin or weedicide like 2,4-d etc are used as weapons for war called BIOWAR

  • Devyani Thopte

yipee i gt it all rite.
wow that was really awesome 🙂
never seen any quiz as easy as that

    • perumaldevi

pyrimidine is a 6 membered ring stucture the fitrst obtion *GATCAATGC* of 14 th question has four 6 -member ring stucture
      T-TYMINE and C- CYTOCINE

    • Robin

They have asked us whic of the foll sequence contains only 4 pyrimidines(C,U,T) hence in the option a thers only 4 pyrimidines

  • STRAWBERRY.ARCHANA

@yamini: in this question u r asked about purine i.e. Adenine & guanine and pyrimidines i.e. thymine cytosine &uracil..so u can see which of them contain four pyrimidine base

  • yamini

could you please explain ques 14? i’m really confused!

    • tribornee mitra

in Q.14 AG is a purine and CT are pyrimidin. so in option A ders 2Ts n 2Cs.

    Question 10
Which of the following is a genetic vector?
Answer is wrong- its All of these. Please refer wikipedia.

    • Administrator

      Smita, Thanks for the feedback.
Vector are agents such as a plasmid or a virus, which incorporate foreign DNA and transfer that DNA from one organism to another.

Plasmids are circular DNA molecule called vectors in genetic engineering, usually found in bacteria. It can replicate independent of the main chromosome, commonly used in genetics and biotechnology to express particular genes.

Phage vectors are evolved for cell targeted gene delivery and other properties suitable for gene therapy because of their genetic simplicity.

Cosmid is a large vector which is made from a bacteriophage and used to clone genes or gene fragments.
